SouSou Saturdays are monthly family-oriented art-making, dance, and music workshops held every second Saturday of the month at the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute.

Join us for our 1st SouSou of the season--African Heritage SouSou: Always Africa!

We are happy to announce the residency of Callaloo Kids, the interactive children’s entertainment group with a social mission and a cult following among NYC kids. Enjoy their fun puppet theater and come celebrate the greatly anticipated release of Black Panther by making your own inspired power amulet!


Program Schedule:

FUN PUPPET THEATER PRESENTATIONS! First Floor Gallery | Callaloo Kids! - Legacy stories with the Callaloo Kids!

SHOWTIMES: 11:00 AM & 1:00 PM

FUN ART-MAKING STATIONS! - Second Floor Gallery
A) Power Amulets - Make and wear a fun Black Panther-inspired protection necklace
B) Spirit Crocodiles! - Create a beautiful Yoruba-inspired artwork for your home
SESSIONS: 11:30 NOON - 2:30PM

DANCE & MOVEMENT- Second Floor Gallery
Watoto African Dance - Kids come and enjoy a fun cultural dance and drumming workshop!
CLASSES: 12:00 PM & 2:00 PM
