Guided Exhibition Tour

CCCADI welcomes schools and organizations to visit our current exhibition BYENVENI with groups of students to engag with the featured artwork through an in-person guided gallery tour. We are offering a 90 minute guided tour for groups up to 20 people. Each tour will be led by the BYENVENI curator, Yvena Despagne. During a guided visit, students will explore galley concepts in depth through observation and discussion. Visitors will be able to connect the featured artwork not only to their classroom curriculum, but also current events, their lives, and their communities.

BYENVENI is a multimedia exhibition that welcomes contemporary Haitian Diasporic art. This exhibition shines a spotlight on the creative expressions of eleven artists who focus on the theme of lakay (translated as home in Haitian-Kreyòl), and explore Haiti as both a cherished internal sanctuary, preserving cultural traditions and religious practices, as well as an external haven, a space of refuge, familial and communal development, a source of boundless joy, and the cornerstone of sovereignty. The guided tours invite students to explore their connection to home and community.
