These global traditions came to life through music, dance, panel-dialogue sessions, altar installations, and the moving image. The event, which drew people from California, North Carolina, Baltimore, Cuba, and the tri-state area, showcased the connections between spiritual beliefs, cultural traditions, and activism, with a focus on their manifestations today. Programs and activities included diverse expressions and holders of these traditions from throughout the Americas: Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, and the United States.
Presenters included: Baba Neil Clarke with Iyesa? Drum Ensemble, & featured Akpon, Amma McKen; Master Cuban Percussionist, Roman Diaz & Ensemble, and from Trinidad, Something Positive.
