Dear Friends:
As many of you know, CCCADI has been named the developers of a decommissioned, historic landmark firehouse located at 120 East 125th Street in East Harlem, El Barrio. This letter will also serve to inform you that we have sold our brownstone on West 58th Street and will be moving to temporary offices across the street from The Firehouse as of August 1st.
Through our Capital Campaign we have successfully raised $5.5 million in city and state support to renovate the Firehouse, planned as our new home for late 2013.
We want to acknowledge and thank the following supporters for their new and renewed support of CCCADI, programs and capital campaign: Partners in Preservation/American Express Initiative, the New York Community Trust, the Ford Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Rockefeller Foundation/Innovation Grant, MetLife Foundation, Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, The Hearst Foundation, Time Warner and National Cares Mentoring Project.
While we continue to plan and expand our work with past community partners like The Apollo, Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN), the Dwyer Cultural Center and Hostos Center for the Performing Arts, among others; we are extremely proud to mention new, magnificent collaborations with local organizations that have welcomed us with open arms. They include Taino Towers, Los Hermanos Fraternos de Loiza, Sinergia, East Harlem Café, Casa Azul, Poets’ Den, Harlem Community Development Corporation, Community Board 11, East Harlem Tourism Council and Exodus.
While we have made great strides over the past years, we are fully aware that we have much more to accomplish and we need your help!
It is our hope that we will be able to count on your continued interest and support for our healthy move uptown to El Barrio!
